Backend Tech Lead (Golang | Real-Time Systems)

What You’ll Do

• Design and build scalable backend systems in Golang
• Own real-time multiplayer infrastructure using sockets
• Design and optimize Redis Pub/Sub–based communication systems
• Architect systems for low latency and high concurrency
• Design and optimize MongoDB schemas and queries at scale
• Lead backend architecture decisions and uphold code quality standards
• Review code and mentor backend engineers
• Monitor, debug, and continuously improve system performance and reliability
• Collaborate closely with frontend and product teams to ship features end-to-end

Must-Have Skills

• 4–6 years of backend development experience
• Strong production-level experience with Golang
• Hands-on experience building real-time systems (WebSockets or similar)
• Proven experience designing systems that scale to 100K+ concurrent users
• Solid understanding of Redis Pub/Sub, caching, and distributed systems
• Strong experience with MongoDB (schema design, indexing, performance tuning)
• Deep understanding of system design, scalability, and architectural trade-offs
• Experience handling concurrency, race conditions, and failure scenarios
• Ability to take full ownership and build systems from scratch

Good to Have

• Experience building multiplayer games or real-time platforms
• Experience with GCP or AWS cloud infrastructure
• Knowledge of message queues and event-driven architectures
• Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment
